| Tamalder Childcare is operated in an indentical fashion, but if you require further information, please contact us. |

The room is separated into two sections, one for children aged 0-1 and a separate room for children aged 1-2.
The room is well equipped with stimulating toys and craft equipment to encourage your child’s development in language, social, construction and physical skills.
Activities are planned for each day following a theme for a month and using the Birth to Three Matters Framework to provide interesting activities to encourage each individual child to develop at their own pace.
A separate sleep room is provided so that your child can sleep undisturbed and there is a monitor installed and staff check the room every 10 minutes, recording the temperature of the room and checking each child.
In the Cuddles room we follow the routine that you have at home or take our lead from the baby as to what they want and when, if they are not settled into a routine.
There is a routine for the room that includes outside play time and messy play time as well as meals and snacks. However, the routine is very flexible and will be adapted to suit your child.

Birth to Three Matters is a framework developed by the Government to help practitioners working with this age group develop play-based learning. The framework is broken down into four sections of development :
A strong child
A skilful communicator
A competent Learner
A healthy child
The main principles are :
Relationships with others are crucial in children’s life, parents and families are central to the well-being of children;
It is important to develop a relationship with a key person at home and nursery;
Learning is a shared process, children learn more when supported by a trusted adult;
Schedules and routines must flow with the child’s needs;
Children learn through trial and error;
Children learn by doing rather than being told.
All the planning in the Cuddles and Giggles rooms takes into account the Birth to Three Matters Framework.

This room is slightly more structured than the Cuddles room, offering more table-top activities and activities which require longer periods of concentration.
Once again, the room has a theme for the month and activities are carried out around that theme, using the Birth to Three Matters Framework for guidance. There are daily opportunities for Messy Play, Outside Play, Free Creative and Role Play to encourage your child(ren) to develop new skills and increase independence.

Offering the FREE Nursery Education Grant to children for 11 weeks per term from 1.00pm - 3.30pm.
Children follow the Early Learning Goals Curriculum. We will plan a play-based curriculum that encourages your child to develop through the Stepping Stones so as to lay a good foundation of learning to prepare your child for integration into your chosen Primary School.
When the time comes for your child to go to primary school, we will work in partnership with the Primary School to ensure a smooth transition from Furness Childcare to School.
As part of the Chatterbox class, we offer the children a chance to attend a Ducklings Swimming Class for half an hour a week during term time. This is at the local leisure centre where they have a Qualified Iinstructor, Lifeguard and Nursery Staff to teach them and work through the Ducklings Swimming Awards.
We also run French Classes for 15 minutes three times a week as research has shown that children learn a second language easier if they are introduced to it at an early age.
All children have daily access (weather permitting) to a well equipped, soft floored play ground.
Frequent trips (locally) are included in the planning.
